Explore Lake Hovsgol is a 100 mile long pristine alpine lake located
in the north of Mongolia, close to the Siberian border. The lake lies
at an altitude of 1645m and is a rift valley some 262m deep. The Lake
is a protected as a National Park and is sacred to Mongolians who call
it "Dalai Ej" the "Mother Sea". You have a full two days in Khovsgol
Lake National Park to explore the lake optional by boat, on horseback,
by trekking along the shore or just relax and enjoy the clear mountain

ULAANBAATAR
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar (UB). On arrival, you are welcomed by Samar
Magic Tours's representative and are transferred to your hotel in
the heart of the city!. Today is spent on a guided city tour of
Ulaanbataar, highlights include Sukhbataar Main Square,
the monument of "Chinggis" Khan, and the National
History Museum where you will see artefacts from Mongolia
from the Stone Age to the present, and displays of the development
of Mongolian arts and culture. Attend the Evening Mongolian
traditional folk songs and dance concert. Have welcome dinner at
local restaurant. Overnight at the 1st class hotel. |

GANDAN-SACRED
TUUL RIVER NOMAD'S VALLEY
Morning, visit to the "Gandan" Lamasery (80 foot
tall statue of Buddha, practicing Tibetan Buddhist Lamas), the largest
Monastery in Mongolia and the buddhist ceremony. After, drive to
the "Sacred Tuul river Nomad's Valley". This is
a beautiful valley of streams. There are national gers in beautiful
natural locations, so it's easy to meet with locals and see their
daily lives, interact with them, explore, take water adventures,
go trekking, swimming in the Tuul river. In route, we will stop,
to observe and to take some amazing photos to the 40 meter
(~133,3 feet) Statue of "Chinggis" Khaan with a big horse
on Tsonjin Boldog Hill is located just ~3kms (~1,5miles) to "Chinggis"
Tourist Traditional Ger Camp. Arrive. Welcome dinner with
traditional Mongolian meal (khorkhog), which is mutton
cooked with hot rock and with vegetables, water, potatoes, and onion.
Overnight at the "Chinggis" Tourist Camp. "Chinggis" Tourist
Traditional Camp is Highly recommended by "Lonely Planet Mongolia-2005",
by the author Michael Kohn on pages 70 and 101. This Tourist
Base Camp provides electricity, hot water, showers, western style
toilets and restaurant . Full board. |

TERELJ
NATIONAL PARK-ARRYABAL TEMPLE
After breakfast, drive to "Terelj" National Park for
a walking tour to Turtle Rock and hiking to the
"Arryabal" Buddhist temple on the top of the
mountain. It is famous for its amazing rock formations, pristine
alpine scenery and varied bird life. The Terelj National Park
incorporates parts of Khenty Mountain Range. The forest consists
of Aspen, Larch and Birch trees which support deer, wolf, wild
boar, eagles and others. Picnic lunch. In the afternoon, drive
back to "Chinggis" tourist camp. Free time for hiking,
archery, horseback riding, etc. Dinner and overnight.

FLIGHT TO KHOVSGOL
LAKE NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to UB airport to fly to Murun or to Khatgal
(approx. 1.5 hours) flight from Ulaanbaatar. Arrive in the local
airport and drive to the tourist base gers camp by the Khovsgol
Lake National Park. There are hot showers and Sauna. We
will enjoy the nature reserve around the lake while hiking around
the lake. Optional activities: horse back riding, fishing, birdwatching,
trekking, hiking, or boat ride will be offered as activities. Overnight
in tourist base gers camp. Full board. |

KHOVSGOL
LAKE NATIONAL PARK
Spend two full days exploring, relaxing and walking the
lakeshore of Khovsgol Lake national Park and surrounding
mountains and meadows (not transport is included). You have a full
two days to explore the lake optional by boat, on horseback, by
trekking along the shore or just relax and enjoy the clear mountain
air and the stunning lake. You will have the opportunity to visit
local nomads' dwellings and, for those interested, try optional
Mongolian-style horseback riding, including a visit with a Tsaatan
family who still live in tepees in the deep forest, raising reindeer.
Admire the White crane, Whooper swan and the Hooded crane at the
Lake Hovsgol National Park. Overnight in tourist base gers camp.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO GO ?: Mongolia is vast! Generally,
it is recommended to pay your visit from May to September when the
grass is green.
*The Naadam Festival in Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia
is celebrated on July 11 and 12 (this an annual festival of culture,
sports and trade occurs during this time).
*Please note when you choose your clothes: April
to May, or on September: warm days and cool nights around (6-10°C).
/ June, July to August : is summertime, days around (15°C-30°C),
nights around (10/20°C).
*Tour Costs: Prices and dates may be subject to
change. The duration of the above trip can be changed to suit your
needs.
*Comment about Mongolian Conditions: Your tour
involves some days of travelling off the beaten track, with long
road journeys by 4WD transport over difficult terrain. Outside Ulaanbaatar,
accommodation is in traditional Gers which are circular tents. Facilities
are fairly basic, each Ger contains 2 beds, a wood stove, bedding,
and a simple chest. Hot water is not always available.
*Accommodation in the countryside: Most tourists
will stay in specially constructed gers camps. These camps provide
accommodation in the round felt houses used by nomads and usually
have separate toilet, washing and restaurant facilities.
*Group Size in Mongolia: With less than 3
passengers, we reserve the right to cancel the tour.
*Excess baggage: the max. weight of your luggage
by our transport is 15 kg (for overweight you must
to pay for extra cars in Ulaanbaatar city, only in cash, before
your departure to the countryside of Mongolia), or the extra luggage
can be stored free at hotel in Ulaanbataar. The max. weight of your
luggage by internal air is 10 kg.
