The Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area: is a 12,270 km2(4,740sqmi) government administered Strictly Protected Area in the Khentii province in Eastern Mongolia. The Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area is located in the Khentii Mountains, and includes the sacred Burkhan Khaldun mountain. This is considered to be the birthplace of Genghis Khan, as well as one of the rumored locations of his tomb.

Khangiin Khar Nuur (Khangiin Black Lake): this is a remote lake hidden in the deep interior forests of the Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area at 2800m above sea level. The lake is rich in fish such as grayling, and lenok.

Gorkhi/Terelj National Park: is located just 70km (44miles) from Ulaanbaatar (UB) and features stunning Granite Mountains and flowery endless grassy green meadows. This picturesque National Park is a part of Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area. Park. The wildlife includes brown bears and over 250 species of birds. The Tuul River flows through the park. The park has many rock formations for rock climbers, and includes two famous formations named for things they resemble: Turtle Rock and the Old Man Reading a Book (Praying Lama Rock). It is a great place for hiking, trekking, even you can rock climb here at its natural steep granite walls.

The remains of the burial temple of Manchurian Princess: this historic site is located in the deep forest in Khentii National Park. Here lies the grave of Queen of the Mongolian Ephu king Dondovdorj, who was married to the sixth daughter of a Manchu king. Dondovdorj built the temple in 1740 after the death of his queen. It is his monument to the woman who had once been awarded the title of Diligent and Kind, and who was poisoned by the Manchus after she displeased them with her support of the Mongolian people. The temple complex consisted of a stele tower, entrance, guard house and the tomb of the princess. The compound was heavily damaged in the purges of the 1930's. The tower at the entrance has been restored, with a stone turtle and stele inside.
