Train Schedule
|
This
is a unique and cheap way to discover China, Mongolia and
Russia or Russia, Mongolia and China. A train tour you will
never forget...The longest and most famous railway journey
in the world, the Trans Mongolian or Trans Siberian traverses
Mongolia from China to Moscow, Russia or Mongolia from Moscow
to China. Especially in Mongolia and in Russia it is very
difficult to arrange transfers, hotels and transport by
yourself. We advise to arrange as much as possible before
starting the trip by booking of the start package listed
below, so we can make all the necessary preparations (min.
210-180 days prior).
- Early booking is recommended.
- Valid Passport number required.
- Please contact the Mongolian Embassy or the Mongolian
Consulate in your home country to see if you need a visa
to enter Mongolia.
- The train leaves from Beijing Railway Station or from
Ulaanbaatar Railway Station or from Moscow Railway Station
or from Irkustk Railway Station.
- Please be at the railway station at least 1 hour in advance.
-Customs & Immigration: There are major delays of four
to six hours at both, at the China-Mongolia and at the Russia-Mongolia
borders. Often the trains cross the border during the middle
of the night, when the alert Chinese, Mongolian and Russian
officials maintain the upper hand. The whole process is
not difficult or a hassle - just annoying because they keep
interrupting your sleep. Your passport will be taken for
inspection and stamping. During these stops, you can alight
and wander around the station, which is just as well since
the toilets on the train are locked during the whole inspection
procedure.
-Generally you are only allowed to take 35kg of luggage,
but for foreigners, this is rarely checked, except perhaps
when departing Beijing. A lot of smuggling is done on this
train, so never agree to carry anything across the border
for anyone else.
- Please note that if you are booking this trip during the
summer, be prepared for delayed ... ***Train Fares
and Schedule are subject to change without notice.
- ATTENTION!: Your reservation is only
valid after the confirmation and the full payment.
