This is one of the most interesting routes in Mongolia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, we will depart <strong>northeast<\/strong> to visit the <strong>Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue<\/strong>. At the base of the statue, visitors can see a replica of the legendary golden whip of the Great Khan. Tourists may take an elevator inside the statue. The exit is located at the height of Genghis Khan\u2019s groin, from where one can walk up to the horse\u2019s head to enjoy a wide panorama of the steppe. We will also visit a small Bronze Age Museum located in the basement of the <strong>Genghis Khan<\/strong> <strong>Equestrian Statue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Departure <strong>northeast<\/strong> to <strong>Gorkhi\/Terelj National Park<\/strong>, located 1,600 m above sea level, with high Mesozoic granite rocks, mountains, steppes, alpine forests, and large rock formations with curious Mesozoic shapes such as the Turtle Rock, among others. It is situated at the foot of the Khenti Mountains, the region where Genghis Khan was born. It was declared a <strong>National Park<\/strong> in 1993 and covers an area of 300,000 hectares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A large part of the Mongolian population continues to live as nomads, moving from place to place on horseback, by camel, or yak, with their Gers and herds.
