This is Mongolia\u2019s <strong>high season<\/strong>, when all hotels and services are crowded, and large gatherings take place. However, the content and vibrant atmosphere attract hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world to witness this important event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The <strong>three traditional games<\/strong>\u2014<strong>wrestling, horse racing, and archery<\/strong>\u2014were recorded in a 13th-century book, <strong><em>The Secret History of the Mongols<\/em><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> In 2010,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naadam was inscribed on <strong>UNESCO\u2019s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural<\/strong> Heritage of Humanity. Another popular <strong>Naadam<\/strong> activity is playing <strong>games with <\/strong><strong><em>shagai<\/em><\/strong> (sheep ankle bones), which are used as game pieces and as symbols of divination and friendship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"469\" src=\"https:\/\/www.samarmagictours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-26-1024x469.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2887\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.samarmagictours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-26-1024x469.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.samarmagictours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-26-300x137.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.samarmagictours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-26-768x352.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.samarmagictours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-26-1536x704.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.samarmagictours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-26.jpeg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mongolian National Wrestling:<\/strong><br>This spectacular event takes place at the Central Stadium. A total of <strong>512 wrestlers<\/strong> compete, but only <strong>one<\/strong> will emerge as the winner. The first to touch the ground, except with their hands or feet, loses the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before each round, wrestlers honour the judges and audience with the <strong>Eagle Dance<\/strong>, a traditional ritual performed again by the victor after each bout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Titles are awarded according to the number of rounds won:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nachin (Falcon):<\/strong> awarded to a wrestler who wins <strong>5<\/strong> rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zaan (Elephant):<\/strong> awarded to a wrestler who wins <strong>7 <\/strong>rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Arslan (Lion):<\/strong> awarded to the national champion, the wrestler who wins all <strong>9<\/strong> rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avarga (Champion):<\/strong> a title of great prestige, granted to a wrestler who has twice earned the title of <strong>Lion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We will attend the Opening Ceremony of the National Festival in Ulaanbaatar.
