    Tour Highlights: Curious about the country and the people?. 15 days (or 14 days-on request!) of Mongolian Discovery tour is a collection of tours focused in the Mongolia Culture, Eco friendly tourism, Adventures, Holiday days and Historical aspects of ancient Mongolia. Horseback riding tour along the Tuul river sacred valley to visit the Nomadic families. We will drive to South Gobi desert to explore Gobi Gurvan Shaikhan National Park, the Flaming Cliffs, the Gobi Dinosaur Cemetery and to visit the largest sand dunes Hongoryn in Gobi desert and in all Asia. Also, we will drive to visit the Middle Gobi, Karakorum- was the ancient capital in the time of the Mongol empire during the 13-14th centuries, Ogii Nuur Lake in Orkhon river, Bayangobi desert and “Hustain Nuruu” National Reserve to see the Przewalski wild horses (Takhi horses), recently re-introduced back into Mongolia. ULAANBAATAR
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar (UB) from your country destination. On arrival, you are welcomed by Samar Magic Tours's representative and are transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city!. Free time at hotel. Evening National Performers (concert which includes the Tsam dance, traditional Mongolian singers, dancers, Tuvan throat singing and contortionists. Have welcome dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at 1st class hotel. (D)

-"Nomad's Valley"
GANDAN TEMPLE-TERELJ N.P.-SACRED NOMAD'S VALLEY
Visit the Gandan Lamasery, the largest Monastery in Mongolia (80 foot tall statue of Buddha, practicing Tibetan Buddhist Lamas). After, visits the Sukhbataar Main Square and the "Chinggis" Khan's monument, the Museum of Natural History. Depart drive to "Terelj" National Park for a walking tour to Turtle Rock and hiking to the "Arryabal" buddhist monastery on the top of the mountain . After, continuous drive to the “Sacred Tuul river Nomad's Valley”. This is a beautiful valley of streams. There are national gers in beautiful natural locations, so it's easy to meet with locals and see their daily lives, interact with them, explore, take water adventures, go trekking, swimming in the Tuul river. In route, we will stop, to observe and to take some amazing photos to the 40 meter (~133,3 feet) Statue of "Chinggis" Khaan with a big horse on Tsonjin Boldog Hill is located just ~3kms (~1,5miles) to "Chinggis" Tourist Traditional Ger Camp. Arrive and free time. Welcome dinner with traditional Mongolian meal (khorkhog), which is mutton cooked with hot rock and with vegetables, water, potatoes, and onion. Overnight at the comfortable "Chinggis" Tourist Camp. "Chinggis" Tourist Traditional Camp is Highly recommended by "Lonely Planet Mongolia-2005", by the author Michael Kohn on pages 70 and 101. This Tourist Base Camp provides electricity, hot water, showers, western style toilets and restaurant .

Meet the
Nomads

MEET THE NOMADS
Today, meet the Nomads on horseback riding tour to enjoy this amazing scenery of wide-open steppe with rolling hills in the background and river. The river Tuul is one of the longest rivers of the country, flowing from the Khentii Mountain Range. The valley of the river has been called sacred for centuries by the nomads as they truly respect the nature especially the rivers and the surface water. The beautiful valley in summer is often dotted with traditional Mongolian gers and offers picturesque sceneries. We recommend you also to take a walk around the Tuul river or into the foothills to witness this amazing landscapes and wild life. Horseback riding tour along the Tuul river, so it's easy to visit Nomads along the way and enjoy Nomad hospitality. See their daily lives, interact with them to show you theirs animal training, feeding, milking, food preparation, etc, take water adventures, go trekking, swimming in the Tuul river. Overnight at the comfortable "Chinggis" tourist base camp.

Middle Gobi

BAGAZARIN CHULUU IN MIDDLE GOBI
Today, we drive to Middle Gobi-this is a semi-arid desert. Continue exploring this incredibly remote area where the nomadic herdsmen move in groups of two or three families, following the seasons to new pastures. Along the way, stop for a picnic lunch. Visit the Nomads along the way and enjoy the Nomad hospitality. Next stop is in Bagazarin Chuluu. Free time for photo opportunities. We recommend you take a walk around the Bagazarin Chuluu. Overnight in traditional ger dwellings at the tourist camp.

Gobi desert

GOBI DESERT
W
e continuous drive to the Gobi desert, Mongolia's southernmost province of semi-arid desert, in the heart of Asia's most remote region . It is also home to some of the most elusive mammals such as the snow leopard and Gobi bear. Visit the Camel families along the way and enjoy Nomad hospitality. An opportunity to photograph the stunning landscape, and optional camel riding. Night at the tourist ger camp under the starry skies .

Yol Valley

GOBI GURVAN SHAIKHAN NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, drive to "Yol Valley Protected Area in Gobi Gurvan Shaikhan National Park" for trekking and an opportunity to photograph the stunning landscape, the Gobi Glacier and the wildlife of the cradled in the foothills of the Altai Mountains. Enjoy a picnic lunch, and a hike through the valley before visiting the local natural history museum for an overview of the flora and fauna of the area. Overnight in tourist ger camp.

Hongoryn Els

HONGORYN ELS-THE LARGEST SAND DUNES IN GOBI DESERT
After breakfast, drive to visit the largest sand dunes Hongoryn Els in Gobi desert. It is the biggest sand dunes in Mongolia and lasts 200kms and app. 40-50 ms high. Has an extraordinary length of 180 kms and 15-20 m. Climb up the towering piles of sand standing hundreds of metres high and later walk along Hongor River. Wildlife here includes ibex and gazelle and rare wild camels. See the largest sand dunes. Bactrian Camel (two-humped) Safari tour. Overnight in traditional ger dwellings at the Tourist camp .

Flaming Cliffs

SAND DUNES-FLAMING CLIFFS IN BAYANZAD
In the morning, visit the largest sand dunes Hongoryn Els. An opportunity to photograph the stunning landscape. This morning, you will have the opportunity for photo opportunities. In the afternoon, drive to the legendary "Flaming Cliffs"; named for its glowing orange rock that is rich with dinosaur fossils in Bayanzad (dinosaur excavation site) to explore the Gobi Dinosaur Cemetery and to follow the historic trail of paleontologist / explorer Dr. Roy Chapman Andrews. Overnight in traditional ger dwellings at the Tourist camp.

Karakorum

KARAKORUM
This morning, we drive through the grassland toward "Karakhorum"-was founded in 1220 at the crossroads of the Silk Road. It was the capital of the Mongol Empire until Kublai Khan moved it to Beijing. Visitors, such as Marco Polo, described its ornate building, including a 2500 sq. meters Palace of Worldly Peace. In 1792 the Monastery still had 62 temples and 10,000 lamas. But in 1930 it became a victim of the Stalin's purges. All but three of the Temples were destroyed and most of the monks were either killed or sent to Siberia. Today the restoration of the Monastery is the government's top priority. Erdene Zuu retains much of its ancient glory and is well worth visiting. Arrive and transfer to the tourist base ger camp. Free time . Dinner and overnight in tourist base camp.

Erdene Zuu

ERDENE ZUU MONASTERY-OGII LAKE
This morning, we visits "Erdene Zuu", the Tortoise rock and the men's rock, . The monastery grounds and several chapels depicts excellent examples of Buddhist iconography dating from the sixteenth century. In the afternoon, our journey continuing further drive to the freshwater Lake Ogii. This freshwater lake is located in the valley of the Orkhon River. Ogii lake is a wonderful place for birdlife (cranes and ducks, to name just a few species, migrate to the area around late April). This a freshwater lake located in the valley of the Orkhon River. Overnight in tourist camp.

Bayangobi

OGII LAKE-BAYANGOBI DESERT
Drive to Bayangobi desert. Visit the area. You may be invited to share a cup of airag or koumiss (fermented mare's milk) with these friendly and hospitable people. Overnight in tourist camp.

Hustai-Ulaanbaatar
BAYANGOBI-HUSTAIN NURUU-ULAANBAATAR
Early drive to “Hustain Nuruu” National Reserve to see the Przewalski wild horses (Takhi horses), recently re-introduced back into Mongolia. The Przewalski horse (Equus przewalskii Poliakov) or Takhi as the Mongolians  name them are rather small, sturdy animals with a short, strong neck. The earliest written reports of Przewalski horses or Takhi date from the ninth century and in 1226 , a herd of Przewalski horses is said to have caused "Genghis" Khan to fall of his horse. The Hustain Nuruu Reserve (Hustai is Mongolian for birch and nuruu means mountains) measures about 57,000 hectares, or including the bufferzone 120.000 ha., and is located on about 120 km west from the capital Ulaanbaatar. Visit the park museum to learn about the history of the last pure wild horses in the world and the history of the area. Continue drive to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

14 Ulaanbaatar ULAANBAATAR
Today is spent on a guided city tour of Ulaanbataar, highlights include Bogd Khan Winter Palace-home to Mongolia's last Khan, Damba Khutugt 8th , and the war memorial Zaisan Hill. After, visit the Natural Museum, where you will see two complete dinosaur skeletons, which were found in the Gobi - the giant flesh-eating Tarbosaurus, 15m tall and four to five tons in weight, and the little duck-billed plant-eating Saurolophus , and displays of Mongolia's geography, flora and fauna. Shop for souvenirs, original pure cashmere gifts and garments. Overnight at hotel.

    Comment about Mongolian Conditions: Your tour involves some days of travelling off the beaten track, with long road journeys by 4WD transport over difficult terrain. Outside Ulaanbaatar, accommodation is in traditional Gers which are circular tents. Facilities are fairly basic, each Ger contains 2 beds, a wood stove, bedding, and a simple chest. Hot water is not always available.

    Accommodation in the countryside:
    Most tourists will stay in specially constructed gers camps. These camps provide accommodation in the round felt houses used by nomads and usually have separate toilet, washing and restaurant facilities.

    Group Size in Mongolia: With less than 3-4 passengers, we reserve the right to cancel the tour.

    *Excess baggage:
    the max. weight of your luggage by our transport is 15 kg (for overweight you must to pay for extra cars in Ulaanbaatar city, only in cash, before your departure to the countryside of Mongolia), or the extra luggage can be stored free at hotel in Ulaan Bataar.
