Climat in Bayan-Ulgii province: Be prepared for cold temperatures. October temperature is chilly among the Altai mountains, and it could snow. You should expect -7°C to +5°C during daylight and below -10°C to -5°C at night/in the evening/ morning. Therefore, we suggest you bring warm clothes suitable for below 0⁰C, including your woolen hats and gloves.
Tour Highlights: Join us for the Golden Eagle Mongolia Festival!. Bayan-Olgii is the westernmost of the 21 provinces of Mongolia. The country's only Muslim and Kazakh-majority province, it was established in 1940. Its capital is Olgii. Most inhabitants of Bayan-Olgii are Kazakhs (88.7%). Smaller parts of the population are composed of Uriankhai (7.2%), Dorvod (1.5%), Khalkha, Tuva and Khoshuud. A significant portion of the population speaks Kazakh as their mother tongue and the Mongolian language only as a second language. Eagle hunters will make a show catching small animals such as fox and hares by their trained eagles. The eagles are released from a rock cliff, while their owners stand below and signal for them to land upon their arms, as they do during hunting. Those with the fastest times and best technique are awarded the highest scores. In addition to the eagle hunting contests, the participants play such traditional Kazakh games known as kekbar.
The Altai Kazakh Eagle Festival is held each year in Bayan-Ulgii province for 2 days: it starts with the opening parade of well-dressed 70 to 80 Eagle hunters riding the horses and holding their eagles on their right arm.
Many of the Eagle hunters arrive faraway traveling with their eagles on horseback.
The Eagle Hunters compete 2 days according to the following criteria: the bond between the eagles and hunters.

-You also see an archery.
-Check the eagle's agility and ability to grip stuffed baits dragged by horses.
-The Eagles released from a hilltop should recognize the call of their trainers and sit on his arm.
